The Elephant Minds Foundation is delighted to support a dear friend who works tirelessly for children’s Education in Kanpur Nagar, India. KM Bhai is the founder of the Mini Library and has a very special team of kind volunteers from around the world who often support his many projects.
We have known KM Bhai’s kind and generous work for a few years and have already gifted the library with books and school materials. Through our Programme ‘An Elephant for a Book’ we donated second-hand books to the library in the children’s names and were blessed with their delightful elephant drawings (see some of their art here).
Will you help us HELP Payal and Gyan continue with their education? We’ve raised £95 that has allowed them to start their education programme. With another £100 these children will be able to attend college for another year and pursue their career dreams.
“It is because of your help that today I am able to complete my education. And I will be able to give the right direction to my career. I don’t know whether I will ever be able to thank you enough but I will remember your support for the rest of my life. I will always be indebted to you all. Thank you very much for your help.” – Gyan Kumar, Hamirpur, India
The Mini Library is not just a library, but ‘an initiative with a broad vision’. Their main objective is to provide an opportunity and platform for children who have the ability, but not the resources to nurture their talents. Over 100 children have benefited already and more join them every year.
“After 70 years of independence, many children in India are still vulnerable. They do not have proper access to education, playgrounds, play equipment, nor is it easy for them to freely access [India’s] cultural resources. This is especially difficult for women and girls.”
The Mini-Library provides books on careers, history, current affairs, literature and science. They also offer classes in singing, sports, personal development and career orientation skills. They have started their own music programme and a popular sports team. Such a joy to watch the children play!
If you wish to visit the Mini library or send your support, please get in touch with us at emf@elephantminds.co.uk for further information. These beautiful children will happily welcome books, sports equipment, toys and school materials. You may also wish to sponsor one of their education programmes for 2024/25. This year the Elephant Minds Foundation is helping Payal and Gyan, both members of the Mini Library, so that they will be able to continue with their college studies in Kanpur. Payal has recently passed her 10th board education with top marks, but her parents are not able to afford her continuing education. With your help, we are hoping to raise another £100 to pay for one year’s further tuition. Will you join us?
Our support can make a difference. We can together offer them and be a part of a much brighter, happier and kinder future.
“Because of your support, I will be able to continue my studies. Your support is invaluable. You are not only helping the children of poor families but also their future and improving the lives of many generations. Your work is really worth appreciating. Thank you very much for supporting the improvement of our society.” – Payal Kumari, Kanpur, India (Translated by KM Bhai, founder of the Mini Library)
